No Simple Highway depicts Lonn's story through the lens of music, highlighting how creative endeavors foster genuine community and connection. Specifically, the Grateful Dead community and Albuquerque's creative class provide the spiritual and emotional foundation for Lonn to recover and thrive despite unimaginable tragedy.

Audiences will undoubtedly be inspired by Lonn's story of tragic loss, struggle and rebirth as a successful musician and an inspiring single parent. The backdrop of the integrated community of Deadheads provides an interesting window into one of America's most iconic subcultures, both musically and culturally. The same community is a ready market for the film.

No Simple Highway is conceived as a feature-length documentary film following Lonn's journey through a summer of shows culminating with him being gifted his custom DeLuis Guitar before playing it in the Golden Gate Park. We started working on the documentary in February and have filmed Lonn's shows from the uber local Tortuga Gallery to the Dead & Co. after party shows in Las Vegas.

In July, we filmed Lonn in Chicago as he visited family and friends for the 4th of July holiday. We’ve interviewed Jeff Mattson of Dark Star Orchestra and have secured interviews with David Gans, Andy Logan of Grateful Guitars Foundation, and Greg DeLuis (who also made a guitar for Goose's Rick Mitarotonda).
